KPMG One More giant corporation adopting Blockchain Technology

CoinTelegraph reported today that KPMG is joining the wall street blockchain alliance (WSBA). KPMG is one of the four big audit firms and the move was announced today on WSBA’s website. In addition to the membership the company will also gain a seat on the board of directors. The collaboration is seen as a big win for WSBA and in respect to the mainstream adoption of blockchain technology.

Ron Quaranta, WSBA Chairman stated in the announcement:

“As one of the world’s leading professional services companies, KPMG sits at the cutting edge of Blockchain innovation across multiple segments of the global economy. We look forward to collaborating with them, as our global members and indeed the world, begin to implement Blockchain innovations across financial markets and beyond.”

Widespread Corporate Adoption

In February 2017, Fox news looked at how large financial organisations were adopting the technology. Most notably the start up R3 which has already attracted more than 70 of the largest banks in the world. Some notable banks on the company’s list include Barclays, J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sachs and UBS. Additionally Proteusion Research and Development previously reported that another major organisation, The AIG, American International Group, had released a new insurance policy based on blockchain technology.

Other major financial players that have adopted the technology include Mastercard, Bank of America and most recently American Express. As more corporations adopt blockchain technology the stigma that has surrounded it (a lot of people still think blockchain = Bitcoin) continues to lift.

As blockchain technology continues to pave the way into new industries. Proteusion Research and Development is proud to be leading the way in Vietnam.
